SHARING a love of fashion, fabric, design and styling with very specific ideas and similar vision, sisters Sara Beecroft and Anna Simpson both worked in the fashion industry prior to opening Claremont boutique SANA in 1989.
The name SANA derives from their names – half Sara, half Anna – and also happens to translate in Italian as “female wellbeing”.
Beecroft and Simpson said Claremont was an exciting destination that was only going to get better as Perth continued to grow and prosper.
The girls have been passionate about fashion since their childhood.
They were raised on a farm in the country of Dandaragan, and with mother Wendy being a dressmaker and designer perhaps its in the genes.
Sharing a love of travelling, they head to Sydney and Melbourne every year for fashion week.
“Our recent trip to Paris was fabulous and so inspiring...we have picked up some hot French jewellery designers there who are the latest ‘must haves’ with all the hip girls in the know in Europe,” Simpson said.
“Fashion is beyond trends. Fashion is all about transforming oneself. It is something you are either into or not but if you are, it is a constant creative in expressing yourself and always evolving with whatever feels right and looks the most stylish and relevant to your lifestyle.
“From understated colours and textures to bright neons, it depends on your mood every day and where you are going.”
