Police use CHOGM as leverage in pay dispute

Police in WA have threatened to delay preparations for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Perth unless they receive a pay increase.

I believe the police are paid well enough, sack those who go on stike and bring in the army. There are sergeants earning good money sitting behind desks answering telephone calls - ridiculous. Give the front line officers a rise in keping with the CPI. Its not as if they have a university education, many do a few months training .. They are already over paid.
